What a mandal page may and may not contain, how to report one, and what happens next.

1. What mandal pages are for

A mandal page helps devotees find Bappa: where the pandal is, when the aarti is, what’s happening, and how to support the mandal. Keep it truthful, welcoming to every community, and safe for families.

2. What’s welcome

  • photos and videos of the murti, the pandal, decorations, events and the procession;
  • aarti timings, events, live-darshan links, the location and how to get there;
  • the committee’s names and phone numbers, with each person’s agreement;
  • the mandal’s own UPI ID for donations, and a thank-you to donors who agreed to be named;
  • thanks to sponsors and supporters, and the mandal’s social and cultural work.

3. What’s not allowed

Honesty

  • pages for a mandal you don’t represent, or pretending to be another mandal, person or organisation;
  • fake timings, events, awards or claims meant to mislead devotees.

Harmony and safety

  • content that attacks or insults any religion, caste, community, gender or group, or hurts religious feelings;
  • threats, violence, weapons displays, or anything that encourages breaking the law;
  • obscene or sexual content, or graphic images;
  • appeals to vote for a party or candidate.

Money

  • a UPI ID that isn’t the mandal’s, or an authorised organiser’s;
  • collecting for anything other than the mandal’s real purposes;
  • claiming 80G tax benefits or a trust registration the mandal doesn’t have;
  • lotteries, raffles or prize schemes that need a payment to enter;
  • made-up donor names or amounts.

Privacy and other people’s rights

  • anyone’s phone number, address or photo without their agreement;
  • a child’s name, school or address next to their photo;
  • photos, music or videos you don’t have the right to use;
  • spam, advertising unrelated to the festival, malware or phishing links.

4. Text written with “Write it for me”

The helper suggests a tagline and an About text. It can get facts wrong. Read it, correct it, and only publish what is true: once saved, it is the mandal’s own content.

5. How to report a page

Use Report a page (every mandal page has a Report link at the bottom). Pick a reason (fake, offensive, wrong information, spam, or something else), add a few words, and, if you like, a way to reach you. You don’t need an account.

To complain about something that affects you personally, or about a decision we made, write to our grievance officer.

6. What we do

We look at every report. We acknowledge complaints within 24 hours and resolve them within 15 days. Content showing a person’s private areas, or impersonating them, is removed within 24 hours of their complaint. Depending on how serious it is, we:

  • ask the mandal to fix it (for example, wrong timings);
  • hide the content, or unpublish the page;
  • suspend the page: it stops showing immediately and can’t be edited until we restore it;
  • close the account for serious or repeated breaches. A removed own address is not refunded.

We tell the page owner what we did and why. Owners can ask us to look again by replying to that message or through the grievance process.
