Shri Tukaram Mali Talim Mandal's Ganpati is regarded as Kolhapur's manacha pahila, or first-honour, Ganpati, and its idol opens the city's immersion procession. In 2024 News18 marked its 150-year tradition and recalled that it once brought live tigers and bears on stage. News18 also credits the mandal with social awareness work through its festival.
