Kesariwada Ganpati

Kesariwada Ganpati, the fifth of Pune's five Manache Ganpati, was started by Lokmanya Tilak's Kesari trust in 1893 or 1894, depending on the source. It began at Vinchurkar Wada and moved in 1905 to Gaikwad Wada, now known as Kesariwada. The mandal spends little on décor and puts its effort into lectures, competitions and cultural programmes, and the idol travels in a silver palanquin in the procession.
