About the mandal
Guruji Talim Ganpati, the third of Pune's five Manache Ganpati, was started in 1887 at a wrestling talim by Hindu and Muslim families together. That is earlier than Tilak's public Ganeshotsav of 1893, and the mandal has long been seen as a symbol of Hindu-Muslim unity.
