GSB Ganpati, King's Circle

GSB Seva Mandal is run by the Gowd Saraswat Brahmin community and follows the Kashi Math Samsthan of Varanasi. Its five-day Ganeshotsav at King's Circle is often called Mumbai's richest Ganpati because of the gold and silver ornaments on its clay idol. According to LatestLY, the organisation began by helping families with funeral arrangements before taking up bhajans and other devotional work. The organisation gives 1951 as its founding year; other sources date the Ganeshotsav to 1954 or 1955.
