Bengaluru Ganesh Utsava

Bengaluru Ganesh Utsava, organised by Shree Vidyaranya Yuvaka Sangha, was first held on 2 September 1962 near Mallikarjuna Temple Lane on DVG Road and took the name BGU in 2008. It is now an 11-day festival of concerts, dance and theatre in Basavanagudi, presented free to the public. It has been plastic-free since its 48th year and holds a Guinness record, set in 2019, for the most people sculpting clay at the same time.
