About the mandal
Balapur Ganesh Utsav Samithi is known across India for its Ganesh laddu auction, held since 1994, which opens Hyderabad's immersion procession. Members say the auction proceeds go to local roads, schools and welfare in Balapur. In 2025 the 21-ft idol was set in a replica of the Swarnagiri Venkateswara Swamy temple.
